The decade just passed has been a boon for technology. We can now connect, talk, email or send messages from the palm of our hand. But not all the dot com ventures have succeeded. And it may have had nothing to do with their business methods.

The Oakland, California based company Catchword is a leading bi-coastal naming company that has done its share of christening newborn companies. It just released a list of the ten dot com naming trends it observed over the past decade. Catchword also compiled examples of the best and worst names per trend. First up is 19 year old Catherine Cook whose company, My Yearbook allows people to build and update their own digital yearbooks.
