Winter Weather


When it comes to this year's winter weather it's a tale of a divided country.

This weekend another series of storms is expected to bear down on the East Coast. In some areas up to six inches of snow is expected in cities that are still digging themselves out. The severe weather has canceled school, shut down airports and kept people insides costing local economies millions of dollars.

The west coast is another story. After a couple days of rain the San Francisco Bay Area has spent the past few days enjoying temperatures in the low 70’s. The ski resorts in Lake Tahoe are still making their own snow and some have been forced to shut down due to lack of fresh powder.  read more »

The Business of Marijuana


Banks have been given the green light to work with legal marijuana sales; but they might not be ready to cash in.

Since recreational marijuana becoming legal in Washington and Colorado business has been booming. But now it's time to get serious and the pot shops need to set up savings accounts, payroll and pay taxes.

To help them with the business side of things the Obama administration has given banks the green light to work with established and legal marijuana operations. This gives businesses somewhere safe to stash cash and it gives Uncle Sam a way to collect his cut. But not everyone is fired up about the idea.  read more »

The Mile High State


Marijuana is legal in Colorado and smokers are puffing up the bottom line of businesses all over the state.

Since pot became as easy to pick up as your dry cleaning people from all over the world have been flocking to Colorado. Marijuana stores say lines are stretching around the block and people are shelling out money just to say they bought a piece of history.

And the state is helping people spend. As soon as you land the tourist information desk at Denver International Airport has a list of the nearly 20 places in the city to buy marijuana.  read more »
