A Utah business owner is trying to drum up more Facebook friends, but his methods might need a little work.
Residents at city park apartments in Salt Lake City say they recently returned home to a note on their door that explained a new term had been added to the lease. According to the document the new agreement makes it mandatory that all residents “friend” the complex on Facebook within the next few days of signing or they will be found in violation of the lease.
The document also included a release that permits the property to post pictures of its residents and their visitors on its website. Now by attempting to increase its number of likes or friends on Facebook the company is trying to appeal to anyone looking to find a new home but it's not sitting well with current residents.
They say they feel bullied and others are threatening legal action against the complex. Some don't even have a Facebook page and therefore are not able to comply with the new agreement. Nothing like a little extortion to bring people closer together.
