Looking to monopolize your industry, first you need to drive out the competition.

The owner of a pizza parlor in Pennsylvania is facing charges after attempting to discredit competitors by using live mice. Nikolas is the owner of Nina’s Bella Pizzera, police say he was putting bags of live mice in or around nearby pizza parlors.

Police were alerted to the situation when the owner of Verona Pizza saw Nikolas go into the restroom with a bag and come out empty handed. Police say inside the bathroom they found a bag of live mice and footprints on the toilet seat. They believe he was trying to put the mice in the ceiling of the restaurant. Officers then followed Nikolas to Uncle Nick’s Pizza Place and observed him putting another bag of mice in a trash can.

Nikolas is now facing misdemeanor charges that include cruelty to animals, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Police officers say it was the first time they’ve seen live mice used for criminal activity. And it was a business plan that backfired because now it’s his name and restaurant that will always be linked to the mice.
