Alex
Gadgets are everywhere. They help you get from place to place, keep you connected and help you read a book. And with all the gizmos available, staying ahead of the competition takes a little imagination.
Eric Kmiec is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Spring Design. A company that has taken the smart phone and the e-reader, married the two and is now presenting the world with a gadget they call Alex. I was able to take a sneak peek at Alex at last week's Consumer Electronic Show. Alex gets its name from the Grecian library Alexandria, known as the house of knowledge to the ancient world. But Kmiec says the name isn't the only unique thing about this e-reader.
"Alex sets itself apart from the rest of the pack by giving you the capabilities of interacting with two screens. The top is your traditional electronic paper display, otherwise known as an EPD and the bottom is an LCD screen which gives you more smart phone capabilities."
